False Promises

my poems feel empty

like i’m not saying what i need to

every rhyme forced

every metaphor cliché

every thought coerced into some beautiful melody

but every verse was left unsung

my poetry:

remnants of the shell of a person i used to be

i clinged to some false sense of realty

simultaneously aware that nothing good could ever come to be

but as lamb lead to slaughter

i forced myself to succumb to the darkness

i drowned myself in sadness

silently begging for someone to save me

why couldn’t anyone see me?

my wrists told my sorry for me

only no one cared enough to listen

but didn’t I bring myself here

i lead myself to this massacre

how could i expect anyone to care

because this was only fair

how can we expect someone to save us from our own darkness?

Little Fires

I told a lie

a black hole grew in my chest

i told another

until i saw the little fires i had started

everything i loved burned alive

the black hole took over

never to be the same

in the mirror i still see the monster

the monster is me

and i started those little fires

My Poison

The essence of my Being

It makes me feel like screaming

As It encompasses me

The feeling of irrefutable love

For Love is the world’s worst poison

How can you defeat something- That is the essence of humanity?

The thing that keeps us from insanity

The hope of love fills the soul and at times crushes the mind

For Love is the world’s worst poison

I made the mistake of falling in love (it’s always full of lies)

My heart torn into pieces before my eyes

Eyes

For I am the world’s worst poison

What’s the point it all ends with death (in most cases)                                                                                                                                          I see proof as I look around at all these crying faces

It’s kind of funny I say love is poison

I feel happy when I love (it’s for a reason)

But this is the place where it ends

Love never bends

Because this is the place where we remember how much we loved

This is the place where love tore my heart into pieces

love a meaningless word that only causes pain
